Grand River Valley Choir & Orchestra

A Celebration of American Music

Saturday, June 20 @ 7 pm

The Grand River Valley Choir and Orchestra will present its annual Summer Concert, A Celebration of American Music, at 7:00 PM Saturday, June 20, in the Trenton R-IX Performing Arts Center. The doors will open at 6:30 following dress rehearsal.

Our music selections on this last concert of our 17th season will help commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States. This semi quincentennial will be celebrated July 4, marking 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

Our GRVCO musicians represent the 17 Missouri communities of Cameron, Chillicothe, Gallatin, Galt, Jamesport, Kansas City, Laredo, Ludlow, Milan, Newtown, Pattonsburg, Princeton, Richmond, St Joseph, Trenton, Weatherby, and Winston.

Saturday the GRV Orchestra will open the program with Fanfare For The Common Man, Cumberland Cross, Patriotic Bits & Pieces, Shenandoah, and The Stars and Stripes Forever.

The GRV Choir will then perform I Dream a World, We Shall Walk Through the Valley in Peace, Saints Bound For Heaven, and Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor.

The GRVCO Choir and Orchestra will combine for I Hear America Singing and America, The Beautiful.

Raymond Linville is conductor of the GRV Orchestra. Tyler Busick is the GRV choral conductor. Sonja Wimer accompanies the choir.

GRVCO is a non-profit organization. We have no sponsors, but rely on donations. All performances are free due to our Donors Club and the anonymous donors who contribute at our concerts. Your financial support helps provide the funds necessary to continue our organization's mission. Information on our Donors Club will be available at the door.
